El trabajo de Rolando Jacob, influenciado por su formación como arquitecto, explora las tensiones entre el ser humano y su entorno construido. A través del dibujo, la pintura, la instalación y la creación de ambientes, su práctica indaga en las relaciones entre los objetos arquitectónicos, el conflicto y la memoria. Su obra hace alusión a las utopías arquitectónicas del siglo XX y a la idea de modernidad desde la periferia, materializando mediante la tergiversación de la forma las contradicciones inherentes a las narrativas hegemónicas del progreso y del sueño moderno mexicano.

Rolando Jacob’s work, shaped by his training as an architect, explores the tensions between human beings and their built environment. Through drawing, painting, installation, and the creation of environments, his practice examines the relationships between architectural objects, conflict, and memory. His work alludes to the architectural utopias of the twentieth century and to the idea of modernity as seen from the periphery, using the distortion of form to materialize the contradictions inherent in the hegemonic narratives of progress and the modern Mexican dream.
